Popular Culture High Culture Popular culture is the culture that prevails in a modern society, adopted and appealing to large masses of people, normally the middle class citizens. Culture consists of the customs and civilizations of a particular group. Popular culture means that arte facts and styles of human expression develop from the creativity of ordinary people, and circulate among people according to their interests, preferences, and tastes. Popular culture is an ever-changing phenomenon within our society today. It is both a reflection of our culture as well as a driving force behind what shapes our culture. It is seen in our clothing we wear, the music we listen to, the movies we pay to see, even the cars that we drive.†¦show more content†¦Involved in this cultural trend is a bit tattered. However, some people go on seeking the pop trending t. They always stand at the top front of the fashion trends. They listen to pop music, jazz, hip-hop, watch fashion shows, hot movies and popular television programs, and read cheap novels, comics and many trending magazines. They dislike those high cultural art, regarding them as fuddy-duddy, rigid, behind the times and out of fashion. As for me, I think popular culture and high culture has partly emerged together. Almost all the high culture was developed from the pop culture, and all the current pop culture is developed tracking the standard high cultural art form. I believe these two cultures have the same significant influence and valuable guidance to my life. Popular culture indirectly teaches people how they should act and look like. Movies, magazines, fashion catalogs, television, and newspaper show women to be a sex object, to be skinny and sexy and men to be a romantic womanizer who have sex with as many women as he can. Picking out my suits wearing today as an example. This suits not only shows what we today consider as ‘fashion’, but it also helps me realize the importance of our every day decisions. This suits also represents the present time in our culture. It does this by showing our nations current passion with the designer names that our shown on the tag within the item.
